Layla founded and managed her high school’s first social media account. She was responsible for producing content that could engage student and parent audiences, while communicating important school announcements in a digestible way.
Design X Social Media Managing
Layla produced design, written, and video content for the Chancellor’s Student Advisory Council Instagram as part of the Communications Working Group.
As the Founder of Journals of Color, Layla also managed all operations behind the social media account, including creating all design posts, strategizing a content schedule, and building a following. Their reels have amassed over 70k views in total, having reposts from organizations like Girls Who Code.
Layla created this account to raise awareness towards the #RestoreRemote fight amid the rise in COVID cases across NYC public schools.
